And if your receiver has a square cash account, ask for that person’s Cash tag URL and go to that page. Also, if you the sender, have a Square cash account, sign in to your account and enter the amount you want to send, and click on “Pay”.  But if you don’t have an account, choose the payment option then follow the onscreen prompts.

Besides, you can also use the Cash app, iMessage and Siri to send money in Square cash. When you transfer money to family and friends using Square cash, it is free but limited to $250 per week. But if you verify your identity with your name, date of birth and the last four digits of your social security number, your limit rises to $2,500 in many states in the US. Another limitation is that you can only use the service in the USA and its territories.

This is a money transfer app that lets you send money and pay a collaborating business using your phone. Also, PayPal is the owner of Venmo and the app has social functions for sharing your transfer history with your friends.

But for you to transfer money free, you have to use a funding source like your bank account or the money you received from others via the Venmo app. Also, to transfer money to other Venmo users, click on the app and then select the amount and add a note and then send the money. In addition, this app is new in the market, and more collaborating banks are joining. The banks that have joined include Ally Bank, Bank of America, Capital One, Chase Bank, US Bank and Welles Fargo. But if your bank is not a partner to the Zelle app, you can send and money by registering at the clear Xchange.com.

Otherwise, you pay 95 cents to make a transfer.

Also, the receiver does not need a Popmoney account to receive money. They will get a text or email that you are sending money to them. But the receivers need to provide their bank account details, and in 3 days the money will be paid into their account.

Also, you can fund your PayPal account, by paying money through your credit or debit card. Any time you want to send money, just enter the name of the recipient and his mobile phone number or their email address. And then enter the exact amount you want to send.

You may also use the PayPal website or paypal app to send funds to the recipient’s PayPal account. Also, if the receiver has a paypal.me link, then use that link and type in the exact amount you want to send.

Besides, it is free to transfer money using PayPal but when you withdraw the money, you will be charged a 2.9 percent fee for using a credit card or debit card. Finally, you can also transfer money internationally and pay a fee that depends on the country you send the money to.

These days you don’t use Facebook Messenger for chatting only. You can also use the app to send money using the message and chat functions. To send money free, click on the dollar sign and choose “Next” to add the debit card information, and then click on “Pay” to finalize the transaction.  However, the receiver has to add a debit card to gain access to the money. But the money will be available to the receiver in three days’ time. Also, the app limits sending and receiving money to the US only.

This app allows you to send money to anybody by their email address or phone number. Also, the money you are sending must come from your debit or credit card which you have linked to the Google Wallet.

Besides, the receiver does not need a Google wallet to get access to the money you transferred. All they need to do is to have a Google account plus debit or bank account, to receive the funds transferred to them. Moreover, the app does not charge any fee when you use it. But is limited to the US for receiving and sending money.

This application will send money from your account straight to the recipient’s account that they have selected for the transaction. Also, if you transfer less than $10 it is free. But you have to pay .25 cents for any amounts that are above that amount. Moreover, the app safely transfers money by using the Automated Clearing House facility.

And, you can transfer $5,000 from your Dwolla account or bank account that you have linked to the app. Furthermore, you can use the receivers Dwolla ID, email address and phone number to complete the transaction. But if the recipient does not have a Dwolla account, they will get a prompt to create an account before they can receive the money. But this service like most of the others in this list is limited to users in the US.

10. Bank Transfer

Most banks provide electronic transfer of money by ACH. Some may charge you if you transfer money. But when you transfer money to other bank accounts within the bank, it is free. Most online banks offer this service free, unlike some traditional banks. But Chase Bank does not charge a fee for this service.

11. Cash

Cash is no doubt the best way to send money to family and friends because it is liquid and easily transferable. In a consumer payment study carried out by Total systems services in 2016, they discovered that for payments between individuals, they prefer cash. Also, people that are 18 to 24  and those that are 55 to 64, prefer to receive cash. This study then concludes that cash is the original method for making a payment.
